We are continuing our 30th Anniversary Retrospective by talking with the Treasurer of our Board of Directors, Chuck Cleaver. Chuck has been an important part of the Stuart Air Show since the late 1980s, early 1990s back when the Council on Aging was running the show.
We are pleased to welcome our new Stuart Air Show Executive Director, Skylar Gorman to the SAS family!
Skylar is excited to be a new addition to the Stuart Air Show team. A Martin County native, she recently relocated from Dallas, Texas back to her home state of sunny South Florida. Skylar attended the Stuart Air Show annually with her family for many years and will always remember the excitement leading up to the show. Her favorite part of the Air Show is the unwavering patriotism the community/ performers display to honor to their country.
Her background includes experience in the nonprofit/event planning arena. In the past, she has raised funds for educational scholarships and research grants for the National Athletic Training Association Foundation. Her most recent position held was the Development Director for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, serving the Treasure Coast and Palm Beach County. When she is not working you will most likely find her with her daughter, Hadley. Or taking advantage of the tropic weather – fishing, boating, and enjoying the paradise that we all call home!
Welcome Skylar! We are happy to have you on board!
We are continuing our 30th Anniversary Retrospective by talking with one of our past Events Coordinators, Desiree Bonnie. Desiree held the Events Coordinator position, now know as the Executive Director, from 2010 to 2015. After passing the torch to her successor, she has continued to support the air show by volunteering and serving on our Board of Directors.
As we look back over the past 30 years through our video retrospective series, what we continually are finding is that being a part of the Stuart Air Show is often a family affair. This week’s interview is a perfect example of this family bond that is shared at the air show. Today we talk with Don McGlynn, son of Walter McGlynn, who we interviewed last week.
We are celebrating 30 years of the Stuart Air Show by talking with the people who know it the best. Today we talk with Michael Moon. Mike first volunteered with the Stuart Air Show in 1996, when the Council on Aging was running the show, and is the former Airport Manager. He went on to become a board member for many years and played a significant role in the growth of our event.
We are celebrating 30 years of the Stuart Air Show by talking with the people who know it the best. Today we talk with Rob Fink, our Flight Line Chief. This will be Rob’s third year as Flight Line Chief, but he has been working the flight line since 1997.

We are celebrating 30 years of the Stuart Air Show by talking with the people who know it the best. Today we sit down with Renée Allen, our volunteer in charge of Pilot Hospitality. Renée shares with us that she began going to the air show with her father when she was a young girl.
While we begin to explore the Stuart Air Show’s history over the past three decades to celebrate our 30th Anniversary, we want to start by learning more about aviation in our community. We decided to share a little bit about our town’s history with the US Army Grumman OV-1 Mohawk.
