Education Takes Flight - Local children get a once-in-a-lifetime experience to peek behind the scenes of the Audi Stuart Airshow on Friday November 2, 2018 as we inspire the future of Aviation.

STUART, Fl. (Oct. 24, 2018)- On Friday November 2, the Audi Stuart Air Show takes the opportunity to give back to the wonderful children in our community by hosting 650 children at Witham Field. JD Parker Elementary students and YMCA pre-school age children, will all be assembling at Witham Field for a field trip that everyone will be talking about for years to come. This program gives kids an opportunity to learn about aviation through a hands-on approach. They will be able to tour a variety of aircraft, talk with aircrew members, and watch the performers fly in the Stuart Air Show practice run.
Over ten Military and Civilian aircraft will be part of the educational portion of this event and the students will spend time with each aircraft to learn what makes them unique. They will ask questions they prepare ahead of time, so we can quench their curiosity about aviation!  Aircraft include an Air Force C-17 Globemaster, C-130 - Hurricane Hunter, C-47 Chinook Helicopter from the Florida Air National Guard, US Marine Corps AV-8 Harrier, a Navy MH-60 Helicopter, MC-130, Coast Guard C-144, MH-65, T-6,T-45 and many more.
Our future aviators will also be able to enjoy our new and improved Kids Boot Camp area. This area is focused on physical fitness and built like a mini obstacle course. This year the local USMC recruiters and Centennial High school cadets will be onsite to encourage and challenge the kids. At noon they will be among the very first to witness this year's Audi Stuart Air Show, as the performers practice their flights for the Show.
On Thursday, November 1, 2018, as part of our continued commitment to the Outreach Program, members of the USMC AV-8 Harrier team, C-130 Hurricane Hunters, and USCG Search and Rescue will visit the Martin County YMCA to visit with 80 + school age kids. While this is happening, the F-16 "Viper" Demo Team will be at the Clarke Learning Center educating kids about the military and aviation. During these visits, both teams will talk about their careers, their work in the field, and answer any questions the children may have.
At the Audi Stuart Air Show it is our main mission to: Celebrate Aviation - honoring its past and inspiring its future
. The Board of Directors believes there is no better way to inspire the future than by challenging the curious minds of our children. We can't wait to watch their imagination run wild as they learn about the wonderful world of aviation!!!
