30th Anniversary Retrospective with Troy McDonald

As we continue our 30th anniversary retrospective, we chat with Troy McDonald. Troy was the GM of Aviation Center, in 1996 during the time the Council on Aging ran the show. Today we ask him to share with us his favorite air show memory.

Troy tell us: what was the air show like in the mid nineties?

  1. At this time the FBO was used for air show parking. This is where Atlantic Aviation is located now, on the South end of Witham Field.

  2. The show was small at that time, with just a few performers, military statics, and a Dirty Flight Suit Party just for performers and their families in a hangar.

  3. There was an unofficial Friday night party that was held at the restaurant where Flannigan’s is now.
