We are continuing our 30th Anniversary Retrospective by talking with George Stokus, Assistant County Administrator at Martin County Board of County Commissioners. George was also the Airport Manager at Witham Field from 2010 - 2017.
We are continuing our 30th Anniversary Retrospective by talking with Chris Jones, the Principal of JD Parker Elementary. Last year, over 300 of their students came to the Audi Stuart Air Show on Friday afternoon. They got to meet the pilots, tour static aircraft, and watch the performers’ practice runs before we opened the 2018 show!
We are continuing our 30th Anniversary Retrospective by talking with one of our past Events Coordinators, Desiree Bonnie. Desiree held the Events Coordinator position, now know as the Executive Director, from 2010 to 2015. After passing the torch to her successor, she has continued to support the air show by volunteering and serving on our Board of Directors.
As we look back over the past 30 years through our video retrospective series, what we continually are finding is that being a part of the Stuart Air Show is often a family affair. This week’s interview is a perfect example of this family bond that is shared at the air show. Today we talk with Don McGlynn, son of Walter McGlynn, who we interviewed last week.
We are celebrating 30 years of the Stuart Air Show by talking with the people who know it the best. Today we talk with Michael Moon. Mike first volunteered with the Stuart Air Show in 1996, when the Council on Aging was running the show, and is the former Airport Manager. He went on to become a board member for many years and played a significant role in the growth of our event.
